I remember attending my first huge music festival in San Francisco, called Outside Lands. The event started around 10am and ended around 10pm. My first mistake was not considering the significant weather change and focusing just on style/environment. I put so much effort into my indie/grunge look that I forgot to bring a warm jumper (sweater) for the evening performances. Let's just say that I was FREEZING by the time Kings of Leon started performing around 9pm. I will never forget how miserable I was.
Let's not forget comfort, ladies and gentlemen. I'm sure everyone wants to look their best because other than enjoying the amazing music and environment, we all wouldn't mind attracting the opposite sex (or the same sex in some situations). However, at most festivals, there is no seating and most people, if not all, end up sitting on the grass. So it is vital that you try to incorporate comfort when choosing an outfit to wear. If you know that sitting down on grass would be nearly impossible in your outfit selection, then you should probably opt for something else. It's all about what you feel comfortable in.
Figuring out what style to incorporate into your outfit is pretty simple because it really should be your own personal style rather than what you believe would be most appealing to other people. I personally believe that going to a festival is the best time to showcase your personality through your style. So don't be afraid to be unique and even push the envelope a little.
I'm going to share four outfits that I have considered for this weekend and I'll let you guess which one I've decided to choose. Enjoy!
